How fast time passes!:).
For good or bad, but time ticks! With that, it carries lot of good and bad
memories too. Some of them are etched permanently in my memory. When ever
i recall them, it gives me utmost happiness and satisfaction. I come from a
sleepy village falling very adjacent to great Western Ghats of India. This
village had everything, lush green paddy fields, coconut trees, cashew trees,
thick forests and nice stream with running water all through the year, but with
no electricity. Everyday we used to get up and watch these great Western Ghats
seemingly telling us that i have seen the time ticking. Yes, time passes; it
does not wait for anybody. Last week, one of my best childhood friends had
visited us on his family trip :). We had long chat and drink, while doing that
we brought in most of our childhood, school friends (both Boys and Girls) on
the table. It was sort of a trailer.
It was a time when everything was fun. Be it in the school or with my friends. FUN all the way. I still remember playing all through the hot day in that cricket ground and come back home ending up getting royal scolding from parents! But still next day we would end up in cricket ground again. We were three brothers at home and my mom for sure had a tough time handling us! It was anyway childhood for us! The naughtiness in our day to day life was to such an extent that most of the time, we ( including our friends) would end up on mango trees in the name of searching cricket ball !:)
(The adjacent mango garden was called ಕುಮೆರಿ, कुमरी and that was our favorite spot to hit the ball ! ) whov.. What a time...
I am not sure whether the new age kids will have fun like this or not...When will they get time if most of the day goes in iphone, ipads and remote controllers!
Of course we were kept busy by our teachers and parents ( to be specific i had a great teacher in my father at home ). I, in particular never shied away from all kind of competitions be it a drama or music etc. To top up for that, in our village we had extraordinarily talented people and teachers to guide us in all this. Thank you to all of you who shaped us pretty well.
We were sort of frogs in the well. We knew our limits and boundary. But TIME again passed and we entered college and it was like frog jumping out of the well and to its surprise, there were many more frogs jumping around! Completely lost :(
Those 5 years in the college went like a speeding train. never knew what was happening. But while in there, lots of things happened and changed our lives. Thoese were the days when we had only one bus to go to college. Bus used to pack with college students and school going kids. I dont remember getting a seat to sit all through my 5 years! The site of deer’s and monkey’s passing across the road was such a nice memory.
I still remember those days when i used to get chocolates from people! :):)..Again, TIME did not wait for us... It ticked on. I hope and wish all of them are doing great in their life. Hahaha...(I know if some of my friends read this, sure they also will turn their wheel of time back to that place !) Awesome... Those were the days when we bunked our Physics class and go to watch cricket match in television. Can u imagine where we used to go? To the same professors home who was to take class for us! :):). Hmmm...Those were the days!
5 years passed and then i entered the university. Whatever we did there, at the back of our mind we were reminded that in couple of years we were going to be postgraduates. Now the FUN TIME had changed its meaning. We started becoming more responsible and started analysing in a matured way ! But still did not stop having fun. Especially Mangalore was such a nice place, be it for food or movies or ice creams. How can I forget Newchitra and Bus Number 51E?
Now many more years gone by, but FUN time have past. FUN TIME has taken many more meanings now. Now priorities are different and time seems to be ticking pretty fast. Friends, once in a while we should turn our wheel of time backwards and see what a great time we had.
For me, if mother NATURE allow me to turn the wheel of time backwards, I will automatically land at late 1980's and early 1990's. So much FUN TIME and NO WORRIES...
Unfortunately time ticks only in forward direction. So enjoy your life to the best... The wheel of time...
